The increase in prices seems to be never ending. Indeed, soft drinks and various staple foods are going to cost more in the coming days. Soft drinks will be more expensive from Tuesday 12 July. The 2L bottle of Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite will go from Rs 70 to Rs 75, the 1.5L bottle will now cost Rs 63. The 1L bottle will rise by Rs 1 and will cost Rs 45, the 500 ml bottle will go up to Rs 35. The bottles of Eski, Orangina and Fuze Tea will rise by Rs 1 to Rs 3.50.
If you're going to the supermarket this Friday, do expect to pay more for other food products. For example, you will have to pay Rs 350 for 1 kg of Buffalo Topside Slice. A whole chicken (1.3 kg) now costs Rs 310.
From Sunday 10th of July, the price of canned vegetables, legumes and sauces will also increase. Canned lentils (410 g) will be sold at Rs 52.75; tomato puree (185 g) will reach Rs 32; rougaille cans will cost Rs 65.70; pasta and pizza sauce (425 g) will rise to Rs 89. To name a few.聽
