Aviation: MK resumes flights to Perth and Cape Town

The aviation sector is slowly recovering after an over two years almost hiatus. The national airline, Air Mauritius, has announced that it will resume flights to Perth, Australia, on November 2. Two weekly flights will be offered, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Arrivals in Mauritius are scheduled for the same day.

The national airline also announces direct flights to Cape Town, starting November 16. Two flights are scheduled per week aboard A350/A330neo aircraft. The aircraft will leave Cape Town at 10:05 p.m. and land in Mauritius the next day at 5:10 a.m.

COVID-19: About fifteen deaths in two months

Life and socialization has resumed in recent weeks with the easing of sanitary measures in the country. However, the number of positive cases continues to rise with 14,751 people testing positive from June 1 to July 21. Authorities also announced 12 deaths related to the new coronavirus during the same period. This week, the country recorded three more deaths attributed to COVID-19. The victims were over 60 years old. Seven of them were not vaccinated. Caution is therefore still required.
