Getting back onto the topic of the original posting, I fail to see how one's gender or even knowing it would make what they have to say or to contribute any less meaningful. Unless of course one of the parties was simply looking to hook up in some kind of romantic relationship.

The whole concept of Expat-blog is for us to share our expat experiences, which helps other members adapt to life abroad, decide whether or not to take that plunge, find practical solutions to situations they are in as a result of living abroad and not understanding bureaucratic processes, etc.

To that end it makes no difference whatsoever if a person is male or female, young or old, black or white or shocking pink, whether they're Saudi or American or even Martian for that matter. What is important is their input, experience, willingness to help and to share with the other members of the forum worldwide (or in the case of Martians galaxywide).

Take me for instance, I'm a miserable old fart, Canuck (i.e. Canadian), who abandoned his homeland over eleven years ago simply because he couldn't find his way back. Worse still I'm a t-e-a-c-h-e-r, yikes. However, I have tons of experience here in Brazil, especially with the bureaucracy, and because of this I'm sought out by people from an infinite spectrum of age groups, cultures, genders and creeds. It doesn't matter to them that I'm a [male] miserable old fart and it certainly doesn't matter to me if they happen to be an equally miserable [young] green Martian; if they want to say something relevant I'm all ears and if they want to listen, Hailey can tell you... I'm all mouth! (hahaha, thought I'd beat you to the punch on that one Hailey)
