Hello, my name is Tailor.聽 I moved here to Burkina Faso July 18th and I hope to put my social work / social services and women and gender studies degree to good use here.聽 I moved here without knowing how to speak French, but I have A LOT of study materials. And I鈥檓 able to greet people pretty well until they go off scrip or I start panicking 馃槀 then I just start saying random French sentences and we all laugh鈥 or they stare at me while my friend tells them I鈥檓 American 馃う馃従鈥嶁檧锔

Awesome stuff! I'm so glad I read this. I am a social worker too and have had the desire to jump out there on faith and relocate to Burkina Faso to serve. It's so empowering what is happening their. I was also afraid once I realized the language is French. I would love to know about your journey. Do you have an IG page. I was thinking I could also do content covering my journey. May you be blessed on your journey. I look forward to connecting with you. I manifest right now that our paths will indeed cross in the future!

Wow! Someone actually on the ground in Burkina Faso, great stuff.聽 Planning on getting there in October, would love to connect. Are you in Ouagadougou? It'll be nice to meet up. Duolingo has been helping me polish up my high school French. It's fun and free :-)

Are there English speaking companies that are looking for employees?

You鈥檙e definitely not alone, Tailor. My Name is Eddy,聽 I also recently moved to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso as an Entrepreneur . The very first thing I learned was how to say the city鈥檚 name Ouagadougou is pronounced simply as 鈥榃ah-ga-doo-goo鈥, or even just 鈥榃aga鈥(Ouaga) for short. Don鈥檛 worry too much about the language聽 people here are genuinely caring, friendly, and very patient. I鈥檝e had my share of funny moments too when my French runs out, and we just end up laughing together. It actually makes connecting with locals easier, because they really appreciate the effort. With your background in social work and gender studies, I鈥檓 sure you鈥檒l find amazing opportunities to contribute here. Keep practicing, stay open to the experience, and you鈥檒l feel at home sooner than you think.

Hello everyone 馃憢,

I鈥檓 excited to join this community! A little about me聽 I鈥檓 a gymnast and a gymnastics coach, and I also work as a freelance entrepreneur. Along the way, I鈥檝e developed knowledge in engineering and IT, especially in areas like the Internet of Things and AI automation.

What drives me is the chance to contribute to society in ways that benefit humanity. I truly admire the grassroots development happening here in Burkina Faso, and I moved from Doha, Qatar, to be part of it 鈥 the Land of Honest Men.

I鈥檓 looking forward to connecting, learning, and hopefully collaborating on meaningful projects with like-minded people here.

@Tailor_wf聽 how do you like it? I plan on moving my children and I to Burkina Faso. Traor茅 lit a fire under them and even they are ready to help. I'm nervous and excited. How are the jobs? I'm a medic here. Technically,聽 a fire and flight medic but a paramedic all the same.
