How to have a social life in Yaound茅 when you speak only English . ??

Am from Cameroon , but my boyfriend is German , I am encouraging him to move to Cameroon so we start a life together , but he is afraid not to have a social life as in Dubai where we currently live because of the language barrier , he speak English and German .
Are there people here in the same situation and how do you handle your social life?
Are there groups of expat friends and meet ups ?
Are there some people here who do not speak french and how do they survive ?

I have been in Cameroon for three years, in Douala, do not speak french, only English. Most night clubs , stores etc have English speakers, many people speak a little English. LANGUAGE IS NOT A REAL ISSUE UNLESS YOU NEED TO HAVE TECHNICAL ENGLISH, All govt docs are in French , though I am told聽 there are English version on the聽 Web, I have not been able to find, but have not looked that聽 hard
