Hold on John_25, I know you're enthusiastic :p but I do have a personal rule that if I don't get at least 5 confirmed yesses then it's not worth having the social (as in my experience there are always people who don't turn up in the end. So far it's three including me...
I'm sorry but if more people don't confirm by tomorrow I'm gonna cancel - I have other things I could be doing with my Friday than hanging round on my own in the park
besides, a social isn't a social without lots of you guys!

Thinking of the next social, on Friday I propose a felucca ride early evening followed by dinner at Tabouleh (Lebanese) in Garden City. What does everyone think? If we meet around 5.30 by the felucca docks opposite the hotel, we can go for one or two hours on the felucca, then head to dinner for around 8pm. It means that people can join either or both parts of the evening depending on their preference

So let me know if you're definitely in, for felucca and/or dinner. I'll make dinner reservations by mid-week

Elaine
thanks for the positive vibes(!) :p we can make it later, I don't mind, whatever works best
Was just thinking of fitting in with prayer, that's all. Would people prefer a day or night felucca ride? And is 5.30 too early? Come on guys, opinions please

Rozypearl, thanks for your suggestions. I'm committed to 6pm departure on several FB groups (this is gonna be a big outing I think!) but we will almost certainly have enough people for several feluccas so one could leave earlier than the other, or one have 1 hr and one 2 hrs, whatever people prefer
But please be there by 6pm at the latest or it makes it really hard to organise
As for dinner, I was thinking of the Lebanese or Italian restaurant at the Intercontinental which are a little cheaper than Tabouleh, but not low budget. min charge is 80LE for Italian(Pane Vino) or 100LE for Lebanese (Sabaya). both have inside and outside areas - Sabaya open air is a rooftop one which I like, but I also like air con!
For more info:.What do you think?

I looked it up and it has a 100LE minimum charge according to my sources... can anyone confirm? I've never been there.

So far I have about 15 for the felucca and 9 confirmed for dinner including Rozypearl, me, Y30, Libya, Stephanie plus a few of my friends. Did I miss anyone off?

Would your friends be coming for dinner too?Ahmed Anwar
Nargiza won't come coz most prrobably she will be in Dahab in the weeekend
I feel that it's gonna be nice outing, thanks for outr greatest organizer Elain, ur always doing a great outings:)

See you tomorrow!Ahmed, the feluccas are around 60EGP per boat but that's divided by the number of people on the boat (up to 10).
please could you provide me with the meeting point and the date
regards, Ahmed

Ahmed, please see my original post for this social - all the details were on there for the felucca. So to confirm, meet from 5.30pm on Friday 22nd by the felucca docks opposite the Four Seasons. Boats leave at 6pm latest, probably 1 hour.
Dinner will be at Pane Vino (Italian) in the Intercontinental Semiramis. I've made a reservation for the 12 who have confirmed with me so far for 8pm in my name (Elaine). Minimum charge is 80LE.
The felucca ride is easier to sort out as the number of people/boats is not limited so anyone is welcome to that
Thanks,
Elaine
