I always tend to buy a big tin of Quality Street for the ladies, which goes down very well. Your idea of soap should go down a treat!

Ha ha - had to laugh out loud!  These guys love their bloody Quality Street.  I have been on the London to Tripoli BA flight about 5 times and every time I am fighting for overhead compartment space over the quadrillion tins of duty free Quality Street!  Guess I am not the only one that's noticed! 

I agree you'll be just fine with the soap SNA.  Libyans are quite easy going that way.  I think you'd be hard pressed to offend them with a gift.  Three simple rules to keep you golden - no pigs, no booze, no Israel.

They like Attractive packing and fragrance.

Fragrance (Good smell like sandal wood or rose)in soap, fragrance sticks, good quality scent is appreciated.

Chocolates and silk neck ties are also appreciated.
