1) No you have no to pay Taxes on your pension.also l could like to advise you dont transfer your pension in the local bank here in tanzania rather you can use your credit card/Debt card and have some time to visit here and learn the environment.

before you decide to come and settle for your retirement here, i could like to advise you to come with tourist visa for 3 month where by you will have time to visit various palace like zanznibar, Arusha, Tanga and other places before you make parnments decision of which part of the region you could like to settle.these one will give you wide spectrum while making decision.

2) Yes there is taxes implication for import goods.

3) for you to ROI should open Fixed accounts which you should have to wait for 6 months or 12 months without withdraw any cash in which you will get 6% or more of the amount of the money you deposited.

No any pay in your pension

Congrats on your retirement. Your pension is not taxable by law here as it wasn't obtained from your work here nor passed through any social security system in Tanzania. You'd have to open a local bank acc for ease.

Other taxes will be paid as value added in your day to day engagements.

Banks offer fixed accounts options, and also there are utility trust packages ( search-UTT AMIS) as a retiree it has good packages for you. You'd be doing so as an investor, unless you obtain residency.
