How to deal with stress when moving to Tanzania

Priscilla

Moving abroad is no easy feat. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with stress, so we invite you to share some insights regarding this topic.

What are the main factors that contribute to stress when moving to Tanzania (cultural adaptation, moving with family, administrative and bureaucratic issues, language differences, etc.)?

What activities would you recommend to help deal with this type of stress?

What are some techniques that have helped you deal with stress?

Is there a way to avoid being stressed out or anxious when moving to Tanzania?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Traffic jam, Frequent turning off electricity by Tanesco ( The only corporation has a mandate to supply electricity in Tanzania), Poor infrastructure systems such as inaccessible roads especially during the rain, Sometimes you don't get services on time when going to government offices, these can be stressful when living in Tanzania  but

Apart from all that Beautiful beaches(beach soccer during the morning), beautiful islands, international and local night clubs, Bars( English, Irish) restaurants ( Chinese, Iranian, Italian, Brazilian, Thai, Mexican), Doing city tour ( Kko, posts), going out with your family to a place where there is so many kids sports, Visiting Dar es salaam historical places, these can make you free yourself from stress

I normally do those activities to free myself away from stress

If you can afford to have a generator or stay places like Masaki, Osterbay where there is always on and also avoid Driving during the rain if it is not that necessary.

Generally Tanzania is a very beautiful and peaceful country , People are very friendly and Good place for business (land of opportunities).

Hi Priscilla,

Tanzanians are generally peaceful, friendly and trustful people, the best way to avoid stress while in Tanzania is to avoid pushing them around. Take things with ease
