Anyone in Banda Aceh or surrounds? I'm moving there in April for 12mth

Hi,

I am new to this site and not sure how it works.聽 I am moving to Banda Aceh for work in late April and will be there for 12months.聽 I will be moving on my own so I don't know anyone and would love to meet some other expats or just chat with people who have been to Aceh/ Banda Aceh before.

Having never travelled to Indo and particularly an area such as Aceh, I'd love any advice/tips or just to hear about your experiences.

I suspect good advice would be to wear long skirts.

I'm a Muslim and I would be less than keen about going.

Check visa types before you do anything

They hold to strict Muslim law, so behave - That includes not asking to meet women

Hi I am a local in Banda Aceh. It is regarded the safest place in Indonesia, minimum criminal activity throughout Aceh so you can feel safe here. My first advice is to dress modestly to avoid much of people's attention.
