What is scones?

lukereg

Scones are a small bread like cake with can be either plain, with raisins or cheese. They are a England cake and are often served with fresh strawberries and clotted cream. Think McD muffins but sweet and slightly smaller.

Ah mentioning about scones make me hungry

Fred

I met a chap this afternoon in Ciledug - a man who would have no clue what scones are.
I do know what they are, but the pronunciation is in question.

lukereg

Ah yes.

We pronounce Scone as in gone or scone as in cone. It depends how polite one speaks.

Fred

I'm proper polite, so I say, "scone". :D

Thank you for explaination.

Fred

Scones have a hard, dry texture, but are rather nice with thick butter, and perhaps a dab of jam.
