If you cannot ask in Indonesian language, your wife as an Indonesian should be the one helping along is your best choice.

In answer to your questions:
~ The blue book is not needed anymore. It is now simplified.
~ the merp ~ multiple exit entry stamp has been transferred to only on your passport. It has become compulsory to pay officially 1 year now when making or renewing Kitas/kitap. This reduces corruption.
~ Regarding two documents you need ~ temporary resident card called SKTT and SKSPS Surat Keterangan Susunan Kepedudukan Sementara, both can be done at the level of Balai Kota (If in Jakarta, the place near Tanah Abang).  Ask your local RT and Kelurahan for advices and letter of domisili residence to be made first, before heading there. Make sure bring all related documents.
Both Valid up to your permit expiry date.
~ Regarding SKLSD at police station. It has been replaced with STM surat tanda melapor at the polsek police booth nearest to your residence. Valid for 1 year.

All are free of charge, unless they can provide official receipts. If there are no receipts that can be produced, it means certainly as illegal fees.

If u don't mind just a few more questions. I did go to the civil registration in tangerang since I live here for SKSPS and SKTT but the official there told me that SKSPS is the old name and they issue only SKTT now. The documents where quite straight forward, will be going there tomo again to apply. So do u think the official is right that its only SKTT ?

I did go to my nearby polsek but they said i have to goto the polres of this area which was quite far but I eventually did go and get my STM. And since I thought I need SKLSD after that, they said I have to goto POLDA Metro Jaya to get it since they cannot do it in tangerang. So from your suggestion I don't need to do that since In already have my STM?

The SKTT and SKSPS are two different documents. The SKTT is likened to KTP (identity card) for foreigners and SKSPS is KK (kartu keluarga) for foreigners.
The important one is SKTT though. If you want to ignore SKSPS, that is fine, depending on your priorities. SKSPS gets more important if you have more than 1 non Indonesian member in the family to be registered together, example kids.


Regarding SKLSD , it is discontinued by law. It doesnt need to be done. Doing it is a waste of time and resources.
You are by law, only required the STM now.
You can even do it online for short time visitors or more.

Only the SKTT is issued and given to you. The SKDLN and SKPPS usually remain at the Catatan Sipil office (they are forms that you fill to get the SKTT issued).

An SKTT is for KITAS holders.

A KITAP holder must have a KTP OA Or KTP WNA, the name depending on if you use the one one on the application form or the one on the card.
KITAP holders should also have a KK (Family card).

The STM can be done at your local polsek but the SKLD has gone into the dustbin of history.
I still have one, but I only keep it because I keep everything.

That idea being a very good one. Scan and/or keep originals of every document and letter you ever get, and keep them safe.
You never know when someone will ask you for old stuff, and they do more often than they really should.

If you happen to be in south Tangerang, the office you'll get the most sense from is near McD and the big Giant in BSD.
