Dengue fever in KL

Danger !!!

Any of my friends had dangue fever recenty.聽 It is serious, but not too dangerous illnes at the first time. But the second fever is.........

Key facts:
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection.
The infection causes flu-like illness, and occasionally develops into a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue.
The global incidence of dengue has grown dramatically in recent decades.
About half of the world's population is now at risk.
Dengue is found in tropical and sub-tropical climates worldwide, mostly in urban and semi-urban areas.
Severe dengue is a leading cause of serious illness and death among children in some Asian and Latin American countries.
There is no specific treatment for dengue/ severe dengue, but early detection and access to proper medical care lowers fatality rates below 1%.
Dengue prevention and control solely depends on effective vector control measures.

Be careful !!!!

Meanwhile according to this article double-boiled frog meat helps聽
Dengue is rife at the moment. Mostly in Selangor.

Mozzie repellent is only way but not a problem in condos as spraying and fogging regularly. There is no cure, only treatment to ensure blood white cells dont fall too low and lead to death. Death usually only occurs when there is another underlying illness, such as lung problems or sometimes diabetes. You can tell is you have dengue by pushing your thumb into your arm and if it remains white in the depression, your blood count is too low.
We already have experience of Dengue fever from a visit to the region a few years ago.聽 It was fine with good medical care but I wouldn't want to have to sweat it out.
