EP Rejected Due to Employer Having Outstanding MOM Payment

Hello,

I'm an EP holder applying for a new EP with a new employer. My application was rejected today because the new employer allegedly had an outstanding payment (SP levy?) with MOM. Is this rejection common? I haven't read about such a rejection in these forums. Is this a red flag for my new employer? More importantly, is this rejection a quick fix in the appeal process?

My employer is a multinational with 20,000+ employees worldwide and 700 employees in Singapore.

Any insight on this topic would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Apparently, the employer did not pay their dues to the government - and thus are no longer allowed to hire foreigners.

This is not common, as most companies pay in time.

Whether it can be resolved quickly (e.g. by paying immediately), depends on the amount and whether it is a repeat offense.

@Dss111 This is not odd at all: No fee payment means no processing of visa application!

I suggest you look for another employer, as this one apparently doesn't know how to handle it.
