PR processing time and chances

We have applied third time in July 2021 . The application is still pending . Does longer聽 waiting time means higher chances of positive result ? We are here for more than 12 years with 2 children born in sg

Longer processing times can mean a number of things, from too much work on the table of the officer in carge to time-consuming background checks being conducted. But it does NOT mean higher or lower chances: Obviously, the result is still open - otherwise they won't let you wait any longer.

Not necessarily unfortunately. I know people who waited for 18 months recently and were still rejected. I also know people who got the dreaded letter after 4 months. If you are of Malay Chinese ethnicity and/or own property in Singapore and are under forty years old with preferably at least one male child however, I would say your chances are high.

We are definitely a non-preferred race and have no property here . But we are below 40 and have a male child聽 and girl child who is in local school .

Having kids in local school doesn鈥檛 fetch you PR. There are numerous other factors on which PR depends. Most importantly, how are you contributing to the economy, do you have a skill that鈥檚 in demand.

John Jobs: You stated in two posts today that Malays are also a preferred race for PR. I don't think that is correct: The Singapore authorities want to maintain the racial composition of the local population, and since local Malays have (on average) more kids than Singaporean Chinese or even local Indians, foreign Malays are seldom selected to become PR. Since Chinese have the lowest birth rate, they are admitted easier to make up for the shortfall.
