@Cheryl I have 2 boys (12 years old) and we are living in Hua Hin. Most child-related expenses are cheaper than in my home country Switzerland. Many things also depend on your own requirements and life style.

The biggest spending is for the school. But we find a school which offers 芦international禄 standards for a reasonable price.

The school is BYS (Beaconhouse Yamsaard) end of Soi 94. They offer classes from

Kindergarten (K) up to graduation (S6). My children are now in P6 and started in K1. I am very happy with this school. The classes are not so big as others schools in Hua Hin. The lessons are in English and Thai (2 classroom teachers).

They follow the Thai, Cambridge English and Singapore curriculum.

I agree, most living expenses are lower than in Western countries with the exception of schooling.

That also happens to be a fundamental part for their future, as returning or moving expat kids or as kids from foreign/Thai parents.

There are few, but enough, options to find schooling which curriculum has some weight in another country, as a parent it is your duty to find them and get your kid some good basic education.

I understand that funding is more the issue than anything else, try to look at ways the kids can get scholarships or support from schooling from the government, yes, they also exist in Thailand and google is again your best friend if you partner is not aware.

Some (Thai) partners will not like to go this road as they have to acknowledge that the foreign partner cannot carry the load..... that is a hurdle on itself.... all about losing face (different topic, hehe)

Our daughter went to a good local college with English as a part of the subjects. After that we, including herself, choose for an affordable university with a bi-lingual program. I believe the costs were 120,000 THB per annum. But now she works as logistic manager at Nestle.

Finally something else to think about; Eradication of poverty through education!!!!
