Entering Thailand with Prescribed Medication

Anyone entered Thailand recently from UK with prescription medication?Just wondered how many days of medication you鈥檙e allowed to take in. The Thai Embassy website says 30 days but apparently that info is out of date and the FDA of Thailand allow 90 days? No prohibited drugs in our medication so no permit required. I鈥檒l get my wife to call the FDA of Thailand on Monday to clarify this but just thought I鈥檇 ask on the off chance somebody on here has experience of this. Thanks.

I've always taken as much as I needed for the duration, kept them in my hand luggage, gone through scanners and never had a problem.

I have always taken a repeat

prescription with me by the way, just in case anyone checks and finds.

No reason why they should stop you if it's prescribed.

Mine are beta blockers, blood pressure etc.

I kept them in hand luggage as I needed to take certain one's whilst travelling.

Like I said, never had a problem.

Thanks for that info. We鈥檒l be going through Dubai Airport en route and they allow 3 months supply of prescription medication to be carried so I鈥檓 hoping that Thailand will be the same. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

Just spoke with the FDA of Thailand. Only 30 days supply allowed unfortunately. Sure, we could chance taking them in but the possible repercussions should we be stopped just aren鈥檛 worth it. Just have to see if the local pharmacy has our medication in stock.

Maybe a simple suggestion. 30 days gor the wife and 30 dysfunction for you makes 60 days. H7t why not take 90 as tye meds if free prescribed, will be taken and destroyed ...

You won't be fined

And...

Travellers should carry a copy of their prescription together with a covering letter from their doctor. If supplies are needed whilst abroad, a pharmacy or health care provider should be consulted for advice.

Thanks for the suggestion Martin but I already have my own medication, only for blood pressure but we鈥檝e decided it鈥檚 just not worth the hassle. The likelihood is we probably wouldn鈥檛 get stopped but knowing our luck we would and it鈥檚 just not worth it, we鈥檒l just have to buy some at a local pharmacy in Thailand, it鈥檚 just annoying more than anything else.
