Retirement in Vietnam perhaps Da Nang

I am a 64 year old woman English speaker living in Spain聽 and am considering retiring in Vietnam in聽 a year or two by myself.I visited and fell in love with the country .I was thinking Danang somehow.My question is, are there lots of ex pats communities for aged people like myself? Things to do in groups etc.

I am a bit of a loner so can handle things but its different with a new culture so I understand the need to be with people likewise.Thankyou so much for any responses.

There is an expat community in Da Nang but I don't know if they are in their 30-40's or 50-70's. I too am moving to Da Nang to retire. I have a 5 year visa exempt because I was born in VN. For now there's on 1 or 3 month visas so if you don't qualify for an exempt, it may be an issue but who knows, by the time you retired, they may have 1 year visas again.

As pointed out by member qnbui, unless you qualify for an alternative to the tourist eVisa you would currently be limited to 90 day stays. Extending your stay beyond that necessitates a border run/reentry with a new eVisa every 90 days.

Vietnam does not have, nor has it ever had, a "retirement visa". A full list of VN visas can be found here.

Sure it has, and still does:

Just pony up a 鈧�3,000,000,000 VN膼 investment (currently $117,781 USD) for a 膼T3 visa that qualifies a person to get a renewable 3-Year Temporary Resident Card (TRC).

Vi峄噒 Nam just doesn't have a FREE retirement visa... 馃槈
