Buying a bass guitar in HCMC

xpression

Hi guys
As the title says, I'm trying to find a (budget) bass guitar in HCMC. Any idea where I could find one? I'm on a very tight budget - just need it for some quick recording that I'm doing - and I think I'd rather go for a decent used guitar than a brand new crap one. In case you're wondering, my budget is around $100-150 (not much I know), but any information on where I can find used electric bass guitars in this city would be much appreciated.

I've been to the 'guitar street' a couple of times, and mainly noticed acoustic guitars there, so I don't think that I'd be able to find one there. I've bought stuff from Doremi Music before - they're excellent, btw - but they only have new stuff, starting from around $300. I've also searched forums here but with not much success. Even my local friends aren't easily able to help on this one!

For those of you who know about guitars, a used Fender Squier/Yamaha/Ibanez would be perfect. Hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Do you have an amp?

Nope, I'll be plugging it directly to my Line 6 USB interface. It's just for recording :)

Line 6 has some nice effects.

I haven't really played bass through my Line 6 yet but yeah, it should be pretty nice. If anyone has any info on what I asked, please reply! thanks

actually, i've now given up on finding used guitars here. Doremi has a decent selection of bass guitars, but looking at my limited budget, there's just like one or two there that I can afford. I'd like to get a better selection - anybody know any other music stores over here selling bass guitars? i'm looking for well-known brands i.e. Fender (Squier), Ibanez, etc.
Thanks!!

I know a VERY good bass player that took a very cheap Squire, replaced the bridge and pickups, and it sounds GREAT now. Just a thought.
