In District 1, try Bugis Singapore in either Saigon Centre or Vincom Centre (I forgot which), Geylang (several locations in D.1 and 3), Halal Saigon on 膼ong Du, Nanyang Cafe Singapore on Hu峄硁h Th煤c Kh谩ng, etc.聽

Chicken rice can be found in many places; one very popular chain is C啤m G脿 Singapore 99.聽 Check for locations on Foody or Google.

For almost 10 years now, Nguy峄卬 An Ninh by East Gate of B岷縩 Th脿nh Market between Phan Chu Trinh and Tr瓢啤ng 膼峄媙h has been locally known as Saigon Halal Street or Little Malaysia.聽 Some shops listed the prices in RM so they probably accept RM for payment.聽 You can find all kinds of food and specialties from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei there.聽 I saw both Nasi Lemak and Ayam Penyet on the menus of the restaurants on that street.

BTW, Saigon Halal Street is more active at night (from 7:30PM) than in the daytime.

Agree.聽 I was surprised when Bhavna suggested TripAdvisor.聽 From my observation, most of the restaurant suggestions on TA are from tourists whose knowledge of the area is limited to the amount of time and exposure they had during their trips.聽 Because of that, the same number of restaurants is recommended over and over not because the food is good, but because everyone follows everyone else's footsteps.聽

TA is good on hotels and tours, but definitely not restaurants.

Search on Google would yield the same result as on TA unless the search is done in the local language.

I agree. Trip Advisor is a good place to start. The suggestion that Trip Advisor reviewers are just sheep is absurd.
