Any properties near the coast that are up from sea level?

expatslu

Hi there, I'm looking to move this year and researching Belize right now.

I'd love to hear from those already there, how is it? How is the social life?

And are there any properties near the coast that are up from sea level? Random question, I know.....

Hi there! I've been having similar questions about life in Belize. I'm considering moving there too. Let's see what the community answers.

Hi there! It’s great to hear you’re considering Belize; it offers a relaxed lifestyle, welcoming communities, and a strong mix of locals and expats across the country.

Each coastal area has its own social atmosphere:

Corozal is quieter and more laid-back, popular with retirees and long-term residents who enjoy a close-knit community, local restaurants, waterfront walks, and easy trips across to Mexico for shopping and dining.

Hopkins has a warm village feel with an active social scene; beach bars, live music, cultural events, and lots of interaction between locals and expats. It’s very friendly and community-oriented.

Placencia is more lively and resort-style, with many restaurants, cafes, beach clubs, boating activities, and a strong expat and visitor presence. It’s great if you enjoy a vibrant but still relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Ambergris Caye (San Pedro) is the most energetic and social, with a busy nightlife, tours, water sports, restaurants, and a large international crowd; perfect if you enjoy an active, bustling island environment.

There are definitely coastal and near-coastal properties that sit slightly elevated above sea level, whether on naturally higher ground or raised lots within planned communities.

We also assist with property acquisition throughout Belize and currently have opportunities available countrywide; from coastal homes and lots to larger investment properties.

If you’d like, feel free to share what kind of lifestyle you’re aiming for and your budget range, and I’d be happy to guide you toward the best areas and available properties.

Best,

Alfonso
