Family Reunification: Lodging/Housing Airbnb?

mcdylan18

Hello Expats,

I have seen this question answered in regards to the registration phase, however I’m wondering if it is acceptable to list an AirBnb as the lodging on a family reunification Visa Application prior to arrival and prior to registration in Belgium. My wife is a Belgian citizen, I’m a US citizen. We are moving to Brussels in July but would like to first rent an AirBnb for a month while we look around at apartments. Is this possible? We’re hoping to send the visa application in advance of our trip, but I understand this can be done after we arrive on a tourist visa as well. I asked the Belgian embassy and they simply said send whatever you have and we will decide. Please let me know if anyone has experience with this. Thanks!

@giftcardsx Hi, I recently mailed in my application and will report when I hear back. I included confirmation of booking one month of AirBnb and mentioned in my cover letter that I will find long term housing during that month. The consulate told me to send whatever I have and they will write back if they need more. I will be continuing to look for long term housing remotely until I receive an answer.
