Unemployment benefits while transitioning from one job to another

brouwerij_deko

Hello,

I have been living in Belgium for 4.5 years. Out of which I studied for 1 year.

I am currently on a Single Permit. I received a new job offer, and the new employer is ready to get a new Single Permit for me.

My notice period is two months, but single permit process takes about 3 months.

So, there will be a period of 1 month where I will be unemployed.

Can I claim unemployment benefits during this 1 month?

@brouwerij_dekothere is no harm to try that, if it pass you benefit, if not, at least you tried. I think you have to send to CAPAC () and they will study your case and see if you are allowed for it or no. most likely yes since you have been working for over 1.5 years. but there might be another parameters which I'm not expert, if I am in your case, I would consult them.  Good luck
