All Spanish vehicles leave Spain with no plates. As long as you have a photocopy of the old Permiso you can register it at KAT.

I did this for my cars and motorcycle. Mine were UK-plated (pre-Brexit), but the process is the same for any EU-registered vehicle. (Actually, the process is pretty much the same for non-EU vehicles too, but import duty and VAT is due in this case.)

If you're a Bulgarian resident, you can re-register the vehicle here in your personal name. If you're not a resident, you can incorporate a Bulgarian company and re-register in the company name. This is assuming that you own the minibus and have the appropriate paperwork.

To drive a Spanish vehicle to Bulgaria you should have a number plate and valid documents (ownership, insurance, inspection). Otherwise, it's wiser to ship it or trailer it. If you already got it to Bulgaria then it's no big deal if everything is expired (as the process involves giving the vehicle a new plate, an inspection, and insurance).

As @GB_2_BG says, you do the transfer at a local KAT (traffic police). It's theoretically possible to do it yourself, but it will be much easier to pay someone to sort it out for you.

If you're planning to remain in Spain, you'll need to check the Spanish rules on foreign-plated vehicles. While a Bulgarian-registered (and insured/inspected) vehicle can be legally driven anywhere in the EU, it's typically not a long-term option.

If you're planning to move from Spain (I'm assuming you're a Spanish resident at the moment, although it's possible you're not) then you'd do the Bulgarian residence step first. It's pretty easy if you have an Irish (EU) passport. I also have my residence permit in Spain (I speak Spanish, and we have a nice apartment in Alicante). But I'm very happy I relocated to Bulgaria as our cost of living is much lower here.

what do you mean by "incorporated聽 Bulgarian company " -- > LLC or Corporation ?

Note : here, in聽 US the definitions/difference聽 as following :

"The main difference between an LLC and a corporation is that an LLC is owned by one or more individuals, and a corporation is owned by its shareholders."

Note two ( emotional ) --> I prefer be the owner of my聽 car, home etc because : What's Mine is Mine !!!

Totally agree with you, I prefer to own my stuff in my personal name too! :-)

I own my vehicles personally as I'm a BG resident. If you're retiring here (as I think you're considering) then you'll also be a resident, and you'd do the same.

However, company-wise, I believe Bulgaria has both LLCs (= OODs) and corporations (= EOODs).

better price per m2聽 than apartments....and now I have a dilemma what solution will be better for me:

to buy bigger home with the garden via corporation or smaller apartment but on my name.....

both approaches have its Pros & Cons....

I try hard to be reasonable ( not emotional )....that is not that easy ( some homes聽 looks very nice on pictures ) ...
