Im supprised that so few people know it, I went with my neighbour to order my fire wood, after we'd been to introduce ourselves to the Mayor ( Kemit) who also gave us our actual address and entered us into his residents list . We went back a few weeks later ordered our wood, he asked how much we wanted, I paid him for it and it was delivered outside our house on the lane a few days later. My neighbour found a Roma man and his wife with a chain saw who cut it up , we paid them 25 Lev , it may be about 28 lev this year , the hardest part was moving the logs into our garden which took me a couple of days, but amused the villages to see an old British lady doing manuel work .

Oh and when your fire wood is delivered you'll be given a receipt which you take to the Mayor's office when you order your next load of wood.

Might be worth knowing for anyone recently moved here that when we were applying for residency the people at immigration office asked us for proof from the village mayor of our address. Seems as though you need to introduce yourself as Kath has said within the first couple of weeks of arrival. We had to drive back to our village, which is about 100km, get a little chitty from mayor then go back to immigration office.

Yes the village Mayor us a very important person like they used to be in the UK.

Moving to a new town/Village why wouldn't you introduce yourself to the mayor and locals?

If I remember correctly and this was two years ago and we've still got more than enought to fill two large rooms attached to our house we paid around 300lev for five cubes (?) I'll order about two or three cubes when I get back which should have a couple of years to season before we start to use it. I m saying cubes but it maybe cubic whatevers. As I said I paid 25 Lev to have it cut into manageable size and it took them around three or more hours.

We paid 720 lev for 10 cubic meters. And there is loads of it, enough for two winters I鈥檇 say

No as far as I'm aware it's for everyone bt you do need to introduce聽 yourself to the Mayor as a matter of common courtesy Iveta. I have a house in the Pomorie聽 Municipality.聽 So just go to your Mayors office in your village it's the building with the flags outside, introduce yourself and ask .
