If you think you are going to return to the US, you will want to weigh your options.聽 If you stop part B, and restart it later without a qualifying health plan, then you will pay a 10% penalty per year that you had part B stopped.聽 This penalty is permanent.聽 If you never plan to return to the US, then you should probably just drop part B.

For myself, i'll wait a year or two before canceling my Medicare.
