I am australian and met my boyfriend in Africa who is maltese.聽 Coming on聽 3 month holiday visa and if things work out would like to know if it's relatively easy to extend if we decide to live together permanently.聽 Is the government favourable

Hi,

a Schengen visa ( tourist visa) is not extendable.

To stay on in Malta for longer you will have to apply for residency. Reasons could be getting a work permit ( not easy ), being self-sufficient with enough money, being rich聽 and a few other reasons. LIving with a Maltese boyfriend does not normally qualify.

The best you can hope for is temporary residence unless you marry your Maltese boyfriend.

Expect to run into problems and definitly avoid overstaying your 3 months visa.
