Thanks dear..will chk it out..
Hello Cyrilla,

The price of the houses is depending the region... Algarve, Silvercoast, Alentejo and if you want to be close to the Ocean....
Maybe a good idea to visit first /discover and rent a house/appartment.
We live in Bombarral in the country/ vinyyards... in 1 hour at Lisbon airport and 30 mins from the golfcourses and Ocean, 15 mins from Caldas da Rainha where are all the shops... less wind and fog and 5' warmer than the beaches.
There is a good building company in Cadaval FOP Investimentos who is building modern houses in our region. Good luck  :)

Hi Karin,

I’m looking at Bombarral to buy a house and retire.  I would be looking to buy near the center of Bombarral and wanted to see how receptive the town is to expats? I’m an American/Irish citizen.  Thank you in advance for your response.

@fcdeltufo,

Hi and Welcome. There is a community of English-speaking and French-speaking expats in the area. As far as receptiveness is concerned, I don't think there's any problem with expats and locals.
