Volunteers are needed for the World Youth Days taking place in Lisbon for Pope Francis' meeting with young people from all over the world:

To be a volunteer, you must be over 15 years old on 23 July 2023. The recommended maximum age is 60.

Festa dos Tabuleiros, Tomar

Unique in the world, the Festa dos Tabuleiros takes place every four years. The next party will take place from 01 to 10 July 2023.

Parade with blessing in front of the local church, decorated streets, horse carriages, music ....

This Fest has ancient origins in pagan cults and was Christianised in the 14th century by the portuguese Holy Queen Isabel.

At the base of each tray is a basket, covered by a white cloth on which a structure is erected to support 30 loaves of bread, weighing 400 grams each, and a crown topped by the Christ's Cross, the armillary sphere, a navigational instrument transformed into a royal symbol, or a white dove, representing a divinity. In between are dozens of paper flowers, in an allusion to the story of Holy Queen Isabel and the miracle of the roses. Each tray is accompanied by a man and a woman, the woman being responsible for carrying it on her head. The structure weighs between 15 and 18 kilos, and if there is an imbalance her pair helps her, otherwise men do nothing....
