Dental treatment Portugal

Hi everyone,

Could you please advise on paying for dental treatment in Portugal and Lisbon. Would you recommend any insurance or any dentist here?

Thank you

It's a simple, pay everything yourself, system. Insurance in my opinion is a complete waste of time. There is no government assistance unless you are under 16 or you are a pregnant woman. Choose a dentist, there are thousands, and get your treatment. They all charge a similar amount and you are no better off with one or the another, until you decide if you like that dentist. If you don't just choose another. There are virtually no delays for treatment; everyone wants the money.

Our Medis health insurance provides slightly lower prices for dental treatments compared to what is charged to walk-in patients. The prices differ a lot and if one isn't fluent in Portuguese it might be a good idea to find a dentist that speaks your language. Often the embassy of your country has聽 a list of doctors (including dentists). Maybe try them.
