Private Health insurance with pre-existing conditions

normanhardwick

Hi

I would like to apply - and hopefully obtain - a Non Lucrative Visa. However , I will need aPvte Health Insurance . I have, some pre existing health issues, one of which is that I have had treatment for prostate. I understand from conversations with some insurers that this renders my ability as impossible to obtain full cover acceptable and compatible with the Spanish healthcare system .

Does anyone have any experience of this situation.

regards

Norman

Welcome to the expat.com forum and good luck with your potential move to Spain!

Health insurance for you might be more expensive, but I doubt that it's impossible!

The Spanish comparison sites (rastreator and acierto) will show you prices for health insurance, and all the companies that provide them. Most of them have their own websites and you can get quotes and buy policies directly from them. So I suggest you contact a couple and see what they say.

We used Asisa which seems to be a good provider, and the policies are at the lower end of the price range.

@normanhardwick hello Norman! I saw your post and would like to know if you found a solution for your Healthcare in Spain. I will move to Spain next year with my mother and she will need  a Heath insurance too, but she is already 80 and she has some serious pre-existing  conditions.  Thanks in advance.
