During one聮s big move abroad, shipping personal belongings to the host country can be stressful. Customs regulations differ from one country to another and you never quite know what to expect when trying to recover your belongings once you聮re settled. In my experience, Bahraini customs are one of the most relaxed and lenient in the world and I have never faced any issues.

Be sure to clearly and accurately itemize each box. They typically do spot checks on randomly selected boxes, and may X-ray some or all. If the inventory list on the selected box matches the contents exactly, they will approve the entire shipment.

The usual prohibition applies: arms, pornography, drugs etc

Agents are usually good at clearing the items since they have personal contacts in the customs and worth the expense.
