Hi there, just joined the website . i have moved to kuwait a couple of months ago from London. looking for friends and social life here in kuwait. im so bored but i heard there are alot of things to be done here.

There are a lot of things to do, but it is harder if you don't know anyone here. You should, for sure enjoy everything that is outdoors, like the amusement parks, try to go camping Arabian style, visit Kuwait Towers.

When summer hits, it will be very hard to enjoy anything that doesn't involve AC.

Thats why i though to come on this website. im 29 years old and i enjoy the outdoor activities. but still need to know people and i was hoping i can do this here.

in the UK i knew what to do but here i dont think there is any night life or social clubs which makes it harder. come on guys,girls tell me what to do!!!!

Man I am in the same boat, I came just not even a month from Aus and feel like running away. Need some social gathering and minded people to catch up. I am in Salmiya if u r somewhere close we can catch and sail in the same boat.

Welcome Maged, suggest you try the Kuwait Expat group on facebook. There are also occasionally ad-hoc last minute gatherings, and other suggestions made in the Sticky.

what about your employment-circle, try to start there and catch up with your colleagues outside work... (not always a good idea though

)

Cheers, i have done this already. forget the employment circle they all here to retire mate after 2 years. so i think you are correct when you said it's not a good idea.

Patience, my best and most "basic" advice.聽 I've been here a total of 5 years...it takes some time to build up contacts etc.聽 But, the 'net helps...sites like this one or similar can help initiate connections.聽 As said earlier, getting an invite to the various embassies helps.聽 Be prepared to "Shop & Eat", the main 'fun' here in Kuwait.聽 If you like people watching, the various and MANY malls are a good place.聽 Make friends thru other friends or co-workers.聽 Try to get a broad mix of friends, by that I mean, different nationalities.聽 Best of luck, if you have any specific questions, drop me a line.
