My personal experience? If we are just talking depression and not something more, just don't mention it on the visa form. Antidepressants are available over the counter at all pharmacies here (no prescription required) and, while difficult, you can find a doctor to help treat you, if you want.

The doctor I went to didn't even ask me about anything mental health related. He just turned to my husband and asked if I was crazy and my husband, bless him, said "no".

I don't know how it works in the USA, but the country I was in required the medical form be filled out by a doctor at an approved hospital. Due to that we saw a new doctor and not our regular one.

PPD is horrible (had it with my first). Hope you are doing well now. Good luck with everything!
