Possible marriage between American in USA and Pakistani in KSA

I am an American woman living in the USA. I worked in KSA from 2011-2012. I am engaged to an ex-pat Pakistani man currently working past 5  years in Dammam.

We would like to know what the steps are for us to marry in KSA. What do we need to do to marry in KSA? At this time, let us suppose there are international flights in and out of KSA at this time. Can this marriage be done in the American embassy?

Thank you,

Hello,
congrats in advance. Hope things get easy for you.
for Muslims and iqama holders, marriages are done in local court according to Islamic shariah laws. consulates are not involved anymore. For other religions or someone without iqama, i am not familiar with the process, maybe someone here will guide you.
Just want to understand, why not getting married in US?
His boss will not let him leave the country. We've tried two separate times in different countries and his boss will not give him the time off. He wouldn't even let him go home when  his grandmother died.

He is entitled to a yearly vacation with a ticket or a vacation after 2 years of service. With the new labor reforms, he can apply for his own exit re-entry.

Thanks for that. What he's entitled to and what his employer gives are two different things. As an expat, the employee is at the employer's mercy. Basically if he doesn't like what his boss says, the boss tells him that there is always someone else he can hire to do what the boss wants. :(

When I was in KSA working, my employer took my passport. The attorney I talked to there said the boss wasn't allowed to do that - but the boss did. There wasn't anything I could do about it.

Are you particular about marrying in KSA ? You can do it in his home country.
I think Pakistan allows online nikah for its citizens, ask him to find a family lawyer or a wedding planner to arrange it for you.
Found a link , might be helpful for your case.

Yes i remember those days when passports were taken but this has stopped now. Things have changed a lot and I am having difficult time to believe that he is not entitled for vacation all those years.

The option of polygamy is for the saudi male nationals only.
It can be done only in home country as it cannot be registered legally here.
Even though he managed to marry here, you can't be under his iqama if he has a wife already here, the Absher system allows only one legal wife under his sponsorship.

Hello,
the legal aspects of this are covered by the poster above, just wanted to say that it would be good to inform the first wife of this marriage.

Thank you very much. That was very helpful.
