Job offer Riyadh - help needed on salary

Hello everyone,

I've been in discussions with a company based in Riyadh and have successfully cleared all the interviews. They've asked for my payslip to help determine my salary, and I've heard there's typically a 25% uplift involved. For context, my current European salary is around 10,000鈥疎UR gross (approximately 6,000鈥疎UR net). Could someone clarify whether the 25% uplift applies to the gross or the net salary? Additionally, what is the usual housing allowance provided?

It really depends on the company鈥檚 policy, as each employer has its own approach. However, from my perspective, it makes more sense for the 25% uplift to be applied to your net salary rather than the gross, since that reflects what you actually take home.

That being said, I wouldn鈥檛 focus too much on this detail right now. Eventually, they will send you a formal job offer, and you鈥檒l have the opportunity to review, negotiate, or decline if it doesn鈥檛 meet your expectations.

As for housing, this also varies by company. Some employers provide actual accommodation, while others offer a housing allowance, typically around 25% of your basic salary鈥攂ut this can be more or less depending on the company鈥檚 policy.

Hope this helps, and best of luck with your offer!

@AdamN

Just negotiate on whatever the first offer is.

Separate allowance for housing, schooling, yearly air tickets, health insurance, travel allowance and so on. No need to base it on your current salary
