What kind of lens are you specifically looking for? Lanscapes/portraits?

Dont tell me i need different lenses for the purpose...i thought i can use one advanced lens for both purpose

It doesn't work like that. For landscapes, you'll need a wide angle lens and for portraits, a narrow one. Presumimg you are pretty beiginner who haven't used anything else than the kit lens (18-55mm), I'd suggest you to go for a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. Your portaits will shine out and it will work okay for landscapes. Will cost you 375 SAR. It's here:

If street photography is your thing or you want a general purpose lens, you should check the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 or Sigma 17-50 f/2.8.聽 or better wait for Sigma 18-35 f/1.8.

may I interfere, as passionate (but quite beginner) in photography ? Not really agree with @TheLegendLeads: the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR is an all around lens with capabilities for portrait and wildlife, the focal range giving you the possibility to catch landscapes or narrow subjects; moreover, it's protective for the body (avoiding to change the lens you will have less dust in the body, and especially here this can be a problem, not all the time you can find a dustproof place for switch) and for your back (less to carry in your bag). At least this is my opinion, after a serious documention work of about 6-7 months for my intended upgrade (from an D3000 with an 18-55 VR, to an D5200 with 18-300).
On the other hand, to all of you, passionate to this activity, even if subjects can be found everywhere, what your recommendations could be for great scenery in Riyadh ? And what it's better to NOT take photos (apart those where there is the warning sign to forbid it, and, of course, the ladies) ?
...and be sure, no matter how you will answer, all your postings will be really appreciated by me, I'm a very decent and polite guy...

You have said about the NIKKOR 18-300mm. It has a great focal range but maybe the pics at the longest end won't be as sharp at shortest end compared to the dedicated long zoom lens. Same goes with the aperture. You are losing a lot of light and picture quality compared to the lets say 70-200mm f/4 or f/2.8. Same goes with 50mm f/1.4. Just see the bokeh (blurred background) of those lenses. Great for low light photography. It will do just good for normal conditions, but deducted fixed focal length lenses are hard to beat but costly too otherwise it a good budget lens. I am using the canon 55-250mm. Does fine in day but not very good at night.

For me I shout long exposures at night of streets or shooting lakes in Riyadh area. Or shooting bath'a is really interesting but doesn't feel safe all the time and people maybe mind if you snap them. Though subjects are really interesting in old bath'a.

And we are all polite following our hobby

16-35 2.8, 24-70 2.8 70-200 2.8 is all yuo need in your life

Wow, guys, like the saying "expensive perfumes in small bottles", you just concentrate some wise lessons in few lines (I know everybody's polite when it's about our hobbies and especially on forums ), but I'm still stuck to the long distance photos, this is the reason I'm dreaming at that lens; on the other hand, be sure I wish to catch the tomorrow night event in a decent manner, but "when life gives you lemons...", I'm sure everybody knows the line... I will have to use what I have in this particular moment, and next year I'll be better equipped (Insh'Allah).
I intend to convince my apartment mate to go out of Riyadh, some Km away from city lights, as dark as possible and to try some shootings of Perseides most rich night... And I'm sure I'll be not the only one. Even if I will not succeed, the sky show will be itself a treat, to worth a go out at late hours.
Anyway, if the production will be decent enough, I'll post the picts here, to share the moment with those who didn't get out.
...and keep me posted with ideas regarding the best places to take photos, I love new challenges, It's a disease already.

There are couple of shops in Akaria mall on Olaya road, you can try there if it's availbale. Or cam4sell on orubha road !!
