I have entered the twilight zone!

Just moved onto a compound on a temp basis until a villa comes free on my prefered compound. Now the villa is a very nice 3 bed place big rooms so not bad.

But it all turns spooky once I set foot outside the door, its a ghost town, there is nobody walking about and I keep seeing the same guy driving his car who waves to me. Went down to the wave pool thinking that would be where everybody was.....nope empty!

Maybe I have moved onto a compound of vampires? Bought some garlic to cook with but might hang it by the door now:D

None its hanging by the door :D

Never been on a compound as quiet as this!

yeah man... atmosphere like that is not new here in Riyadh.
nothing to do but bear with the situation, if u can.

otherwise, invite some of your friends to hang-out with you in your place. :)
Hmmm, that compound is suppose to be a nice one too, with lots of kids...聽 But frankly, all of the compounds that Ive been on are relatively quiet.聽 Give it a few days and see what happens.聽 Let us know!
@Maserman, you need to contact someone from Kerala to send you a good witch doctor to diagnose your prblem
1400 people housed in my company compound and on weekends it's like a ghost town, too.
I have 2500 on my compound and it's much the same weekdays or weekends. I spent the day with Anil yesterday it was a laugh. Then met another couple of bloggers for dinner.
Better than sat in my room all day.

Life is what you make it. Especially out here.
Forgot to ask, how are you cooking he garlic?

Roast, fried, boiled, saute, all sounds good to me. The boiled gets a bit squidgy though.

Dave
wow 2500 on this compound Dave? It doesn't seem that way but I always notice as the days get a bit cooler I see more people around outside.
....and remember that those 2,500 are here to protect us from evil, Thank you Dave!
Are in Jadawel Compound? We might be neighbors.

protect us? are you sure??

Glad to hear that this is not unusual!

Saying that when I have been in Al Hamra or Eid there did seem to be more going on.

Don't know how long I will be in Granada until my promised villa in Eid becomes available.

Should not complain as the number of threads you read about people looking for accomadation and having no luck is on the rise.

Going out now to look around incase there is a secret area that the noobies are not meant to know about :D
Hi MaserMan!
Welcome to granada, we've been here about 2 months. It's not too bad, quiet and a bit difficult to meet people unless it's in the gym! But once you do most people here are quite friendly.

PM me if you want to come round one evening to meet my husband and I and for a cup of tea :)
Us Sri Lankans also drink lots of tea ...

Guess I'm not your new best friend cause I never even heard of 'em!!

A digression, but maybe not since it's mentioned in your thread title:

Its a UK brand of tea :D

And no one wants me for tea either :sosad:
I thought PG Tips was wats over behind after a Jewish/Moslem tradition...?
I have Tesco Premium that I bring back. Lovely brew. But very expensive and best made with Yorkshire water. :P

But my visitors don't ask for tea.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
We ask for Saudi tea ;)
The only T we get in Saudi is the Dish-Dash
At this moment in time I would like to congratulate zara for putting a T in the Twilight Zone
OK Zara, I think you have no choice left but to invite everyone over for a cuppa now that you have lit the fuse and put the kettle on?
