1) Job market is bad right now.聽 This is due to the economic conditions over the last few years.聽 Construction sector has been badly hit and it is likely to get worse right after the expo
2) Yes provided an employer sponsors you
3) That is what most people do.聽 Generally the best option for non-specialized or junior roles as employers won't fly you out for those
Interesting that Construction industry is bad as you have quoted...

Thanks for your reply
HI, I have just come back from Dubai and have been visiting Dubai and lived in Dubai over the past 15 years the construction industry at the moment as to what I have seen is going only in one direction and thats up there is so much construction going on and developments and projects are being targeted to be completed for Expo 2020 speaking with colleagues are working there certain sectors have slowed down housing prices have come down and also leasing g property have come down however this is good for people moving over as prices are more affordable and deals with landlords are better - when are you looking to move to the UAE from Singapore ? you can direct message me if you prefer - I am back in Dubai in January to live look forward to hearing from you - All the best - Zee
Hi zee,

Very informative! Thats what I also expected specially the construction sector is always booming in Dubai and the region base in my small knowledge.

Sure it would be a pleasure to meet you by then. I will be coming by the end of Oct this year to evaluate my chances.

The construction sector movement right now is artificial.聽 They are not stopping projects and pinning their hope to Expo 2020.聽 The market is oversupplied right now and even some projects which are Government facing, have been put on hold e.g. the new Dubai airport.聽 聽There is a big liquidity crisis in the sector right now and consortium of banks are circling in the background.聽 The problems will be really visible post 2020.聽 聽So keep an eye out.聽

It is great if you are looking to rent.聽 Not so much if you are going to work in the construction sector.
Ok how many visitors are Dubai expecting in 2020 please let me know and then based on that please tell me what is the number of units that will be supplied in 2020 completed and handed over do you know the figures ?
The Economic impact of the expo should not just be looked at from the perspective of the property market. The Government still owes a lot of money to AD and has been stopping projects to cover the gap.聽 聽

Dubai is expecting more than 25 mn visitors for the Expo.聽 聽In 2019, close to 60,000 properties are expected for delivery.聽 On a simple math, it does seem that that supply does need to be ramped up.

However, if you look at the aftermath of previous Expos around the world, the overall economic benefits haven't been as substantial as earlier predicted.聽 Right now, there are multiple views around the table i.e. the market will correct after the Expo or it will not.聽 What I do know is that most of the big developers are facing a liquidity crisis and that, if, not corrected post Expo, will result in a massive impact on the construction giants and then onto the economy.聽 聽

I remember 2008 and then 2016 drops; I made money in both.聽 聽I am expecting to make it this time around as well but it is about cautious investment.

Are you living in Dubai now ?
Not now; live in Bahrain and work in Riyadh.聽 Lived in the UAE for many years and have property there along with the visa that comes with it.聽 聽Been playing with the real estate across GCC for a while now :).
