Hello rambanker,

Welcome to ´ó¿§¸£ÀûÓ°Ôº :)

I will advise you to have a look at the topics found here : Cost of living in Abu Dhabi.
It might help you to get an idea whether the salary base is a good one or not. ;)

Thanks

Priscilla

Is that salary figure correct ? If so you will be on approx US$17,000 a month

Perhaps the offer is AED6,300 a month.

The number is correct
It is a great salary no doubt.  Question is; Is the Company genuine?  Have you verified to check this is not a fraud, because there is a lot of scam offers out there.  Take care before you pack your bags or resign your present job.
The salary is prospectively attractive depending on what you are earning now and if you become tax exempt in your home country.

Monthly rent, as you've likely discovered, can easily run $50,000 per year.  Groceries, Internet, and basic day-to-day expenses also tend to be higher than in Western nations.

The litmus test, provided you like your current job and country, is the gross amount monthly you are able to save/invest for retirement today.  If it is near enough to $10,000; then staying put is a viable option.  If significantly less and/or you just seek an "exotic" international experience to bolster your CV; then Abu Dhabi remains attractive at 63,000 AED/mo.

The only other thing to consider is the Dirham is pegged to the USD.  If you are coming from the States or another nation in which the USD is widely used as currency then no worries.  However calculating 63,000 AED if converting to € or £ may look favorable today...but remember that was not true 5 months ago.

Excellent salary......if it per month...can i know what job is it?
That is really good salary...monthly spend here maximum is 1000aed with good food  and stay in nice apartment...
How does one check if the company is legit?
good salary , depend if the offer is real
You have a few options to know if it legit.
- Contact the Minsitry of Labour of the UAE through their help line.
- Check online for records of information.
- Check for their product or service.

Good luck .

That's not bad, especially if you are single / if your wife is also planning to work for a decent salary. The main expenses are for housing (if you have a family and need a big apartment, this is going to cost you a lot) and schooling if you have children. Food price is more or less aligned  with western standards. Cars, petrol and services (hairdresser, laundry,...)are cheap.
Other things to check:
- how does the company splits these 63 K between basic and allowances? The bigger part of it in allowances, the lower your end of service benefit when you leave the company.
- what does company means by bonus? There is no harm in asking how many months of salary you can except to be paid in bonus if you are a good performer.
