I faced the problem of finding a good maid / nanny for a few months until I found one. Allow me to advise few things due to my personal experience:
1) If the maid is too eager to start working and too pushy it doesn't mean good usually. Many maids run away from their sponsors due to small pay and they earn more by working part time and they want to start immediately. I still believe running away from legal sponsor without any notice is not a good thing. excluding the cases if the maid was treated badly then she must contact her consulate / embassy or police.
2) ask for references - don't be shy to call her previous or current employers.
3) ask about her family if they stay in Dubai ( my maid lives with her husband and daughter in Dubai which is totally fine with me)
4) if you hire one go for surveillance cameras so you can see your place while you are away. I have installed  security cameras called Super nanny cam at home which look kind of cute and I watch my little girl with her nanny full day on my computer and mobile). let me know if you need the contact details of the company who did it. I'me quite happy with them.
I've got many other tips for keeping a maid happy LOL. I hope I was helpful.

I found my maid thru Dubizzle ( I guess I was lucky). She's been with us for a year. Still you cant trust anyone for 100%. One of my acquaintances's maid run away with money and valuables after a year of working. she was extremely sweet and well-skilled . I never went trhu any agency but some of my friends did. I'll let you know if I get anyone recommended.

hi all! i found a good website for nannies and maids in dubai, [link moderated] they have a good database of nannies here in dubai and so i can say i am quite happy with them as i was looking for a part time nanny for my 2 kids and i found it easily. customer support also helps you a lot.
