Other suggestion is Barasti bar, at Meridien Mina Sayahi, it used to be a typical expat hangout.

Irish village is ok, but it's too hot to sit outside.

I'm uo for meeting at the madinat souk. Shall we set a date now or when more people say they are up for it?

I'm in Abu Dhabi, but please let me know if you're all meeting up in Dubai. An hours bus ride is worth meeting with some like-minded people!

What about 14th of this month (Wednesday) at the Agency in the Souk Madinat?  So long as it hasn't changed you can get 5 glasses of white/red wine for AED 100.

Regarding meet ups, just keep an eye on the forum; meetups are generally announced as "´ó¿§¸£ÀûÓ°Ôº meet up ..." (there was one on the 27th).

Also as soon it is getting cooler, outdoor activities will certainly be organized.
