Xalapa, Veracruz move?

RelicOfSixties

I'm thinking of moving to XALAPA, Veracruz, from Massachusetts. Xalapa is the home of xalapeno peppers, coffee plantations, and orchids. It's got a great 4700' elevation, a misty mountain "oceanic climate", never too hot or cold. Look it up on Weatherspark. It's called the Athens of Veracruz and the city of flowers. It has the huge Olmec heads in its archeology museum. Talk me out of it?

Did you end up moving there? I'd love to hear about it. I've only been in the city of Vera Cruz, as I don't drive here, and I have heard there are some very beautiful spots not in the city proper, which is honestly, a bit run-down and industrial. Beach is nice though. But I'd love to find some smaller places, more natural settings, in the area that are accessible by local bus.

Y'all are both overlooking the charming city of Saltillo Coahuila,

in the north part of the country. It's in the desert mountains, which

makes it gloriously beautiful. About 1 million people make it an urban

area, but it has a friendly, laid-back small town feel with The Best Street Food

as well as some more fancy and formal restaurants.

Of course the populace here is gracious, welcoming, generous. It's Mexico,

after all.

Come see, and I will show you!
