I see there is a need in this area. I am still in the US but want to provide tax services to expats once I move. I am a CPA.

The directory lists 3 I think.  2 in Mexico City and one in Guadalajara.  I am sure there are more but we have inquired through several channels including friends who are accountants in Cuernavaca and have not been able to find even one.  You should not have any trouble finding clients.

That is good to know. I am only 45 but want to move to Mexico to have a slower life due to health issues. I want to work less. I figured that there is an entire niche that is opened to provide tax services to US expats and digital nomads. The tax laws are very complex in this area and there are not many specialists who you can trust.

Hi to all, I am not an expert on this subject but here are a few link on the subject that could help.


One thing sure, if you earn money when living in Mexico you would need to report to the RFC, this is why my wife and I don't earn any money/revenue (interest, business, rentals, own/sell a house) in Mexico and file only an non-resident tax return in Canada (in Canada, we are taxed based on residency and the tax treaties between countries) . The RFC ombudsmen corfirmed to us that we don't need to register with the RFC since we don't earn any money/revenue in Mexico.

If so (mexican revenues), then you also have to file a mexican tax return with the RFC, in that matter I would suggest you contact a certified accountant for Mexico.
