Hello,

Will be spending a week in the Cancun hotel zone and then a week in Playa del Carmen.

Question, does anyone know if its allowed to catch the shuttle at the airport if not arriving by air?

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest asking your hotel, I know they have a concierge just waiting to help. I'm fairly sure they are fine with that unless they are counting heads, a full bus is money, so they will try to fill the bus. Also, your hotel likely has a direct relationship with one of the shuttles.

Yes you can also catch a bus in town to Playa Del Carmen. Gk
Thanks for the info Gdkeeth!
My pleasure, I spent almost 2 months in the Yucatán area earlier this year and planning a a move to PDC early next year from Kauai.

ADO bus in Cancun is great, you can google search ADO bus+Cancun.

If you are staying in Cancun hotel strip take the city bus to the ADO bus terminal and take the ADO bus to Playa del Carmen, or Tulum, note they always stop at the airport on their way to PDC.
It is also the cheapest way (unless you want to take a collectivo which is more suited for backpackers ;) )to and from the airport.

This link has good infos.

I beleive you can make online reservation confirming you will go on as they sometime go full.

They do have air conditionning  on the buses ;-)

Yes but if you are already in Cancun it will be more convinient to take the bus from the city ADO bus terminal.
But if you already paid for the city to airport transfer no problemo... but make sure you book it /make a reservation on line to ensure they do have seats for you.

The cost is about 190 Mx pesos about 10 USD.
