Travel to Morocco with my Moroccan ex and our kids.

I have some anxiety around my ex and control over our childrens' passports and the trip in general. My ex can be difficult to work with at times and I want to make sure I am as prepared as possible.

He and I will probably be traveling separately but he may want to take one of the children with him earlier and I would then be returning with both children to USA. Can anyone help me with paperwork I can make now to help make sure if there are issues there that I am covered? Our divorce is not finalized yet so if it helps to add something in the divorce paperwork that can also be done.

Thank you for reading this and I apologize for it's vagueness, however I don't know what I don't know and I want all the information possible.

I would recommend having both of you sign a letter of consent. According to the USA.gov website, if a child is traveling internationally with only one parent or with another adult (i.e., a relative, friend, teacher, etc.), an immigration officer, airline personnel, or travel company may ask for a notarized Letter of Consent.

Please don鈥檛 let your child go overseas with him, nor you go with your other child until you have numerous things in order. I have sent a private message. Signed agreements mean nothing if he takes them to a non Hague signatory country and even id he takes them to a signatory country, it may still be very difficult to get them back. Please take your time, get advice (I鈥檓 sending links), and try to keep hold of the children鈥檚 passports. If he does coerce you into taking one child, you can place a block in him leaving the country but it also applies to you and can take a long time to remove. So the best thing is simply to stop anyone going out of the country until you can get the advice you need. I speak from experience and there are many, mostly women, in very bad situations because of this.
