Forget it...! I was offered gold in exchange for a home a few years ago, so I looked into it.

The price gold is sold at by dealers is considerably more than market value, and they buy at much less! There is a huge mark up - not sure why.

I would suggest you made a connection with a jewelry maker who buys gold. He get it below spot usually it 30% to 20%. Make a deal to buy it at spot. I know this use to work in a jewelry store. All the gold is usually 18K. So go look for jewelry makers in your area and let them know you want to buy gold jewelry. The good thing is you can mark it up to resell at 15% to 30% above spot. This is a good deal for who is buying from you. Since most jewelry in stores are minimum 50% to 100% above spot. Also when transporting it make it easier without much notice. Just my suggestion.
