Teaching English in Manaus

I plan to go to Manaus very soon, perhaps in the next 18 months.聽 I have many friends there from a previous 2 year mission, and it would be really nice to be able to stay for several months this time.聽 We have savings and know how to live frugally in Manaus, but we want something to do there to help sustain ourselves and interact with people.聽 My wife and I are fluent in the language, and we have teaching experience.聽 I am a teacher by profession.聽 Does anybody have contacts or information on schools there that are seeking native English teachers?

Try posting on the Manaus job forum page here on this site also try Google and query " English Teaching Posions/Jobs Manaus Brazil" there are probably a few schools(private) that maybe interested in your skills , it will also be helpful if you have your resume translated to Portuguese. Also query on the 大咖福利影院 site "Credentials for Teaching English/Americano" (lol), and good luck, also research "Safety in Manaus", from what I read it's kinda Wild There, have you checked with your friends in the area for tips on living in Manaus. Check out "Numbeo" it has some figures on the Cost of Living for most Cities in Brazil.

Thanks for the ideas.聽 I will do some research and make some more posts on various sites as time gets closer.聽 Is there a Manaus jobs forum on this site?聽 Thanks for the heads up about safety.聽 I have lived in Manaus before, so I know what to expect.

Good Luck, just stay abreast of happenings in Manaus as it is different like Belem. All Port Cities are crazier and no telling what 18 months maybe?????. As long as you avoid the traffic (lol). All kinds of traffic#.

Another resource that could be helpful is the website bellow. It is a governamental service where companies can register available positions. This link is specific for english teacher position available in Manaus. It show 27 positions.
