Brazil to host NFL 2024 regular season game

The historic first game in Brazil will take place in Sao Paulo at the Corinthians Arenea. The stadium was an official venue for both the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympic Games. No mention if two good teams will compete.

@roddiesho, this is an interesting first.聽 I would be interested to know whether the franchise will expand to Brazil.

Here is another first in Brazil -> a city lawmaker uses ChatGPT to draft an ordinance and it PASSES...

We are living in interesting times....

That's Itaquera, on the boondocks.聽 At the end of the subway red line.聽

Car thieves聽 and pick pockets will聽 have a field day.聽 Yes they have parking lots there. And the Oficial$$$ Parking Lot.聽

The place, from the subway stop, or anywhere by the mall looks like a beehive, you can't barely spot any green on a sweeping view.聽

Not claiming any club聽 affiliation or fandom, but the Palmeiras Arena is far better suitable for these events. It's actually, besides their State of Art Stadia ( which, in fairness Corinthians also does have ), it's a city area made for events with several venues, a a mix of office and residential buildings, closer to downtown.

So......the utterly stupid and most boring sport of "hand egg" is coming to the country of football......heh.

I can't imagine.......a Brasilian league of "Neymar like" athletes falling down on the field enmass after getting tackled.

There's a delicious appropriateness to it taking place in a stadium especially known in the public mind for welcoming the criminal element.

This stadium is less than ten minutes by train from my family and friends' homes. I HATE American egg ball, but If I can, I would most certainly attend.

If they're Corinthians fans, what were they in for?聽 If they're not, have they ever been mugged at a game?聽 馃槀

Ha ha ha! I watched them build that stadium and was quite impressed at how quickly a project of that magnitude was completed. The government already owned that location, and I believe this was their third attempt at providing a new Corinthians home dating back to the 80's. The original design was for a stadium to seat something like over 200,000. The best part of that location is access, it is easy to reach from anywhere in the city, from downtown to GRU, it is very easy to get to, even parking access is not bad and pretty secure, all things considered, (I do not enjoy driving in that area, I was just there).

The worst part of that area, in my humble opinion, is the infrastructure for tourists. There are few hotels in that area, and fewer up-scale restaurants, clubs, etc., without going downtown. In fact, instead of staying with my family, I usually stay in a very close motel. Yes, I know their intended use, but after midnight they all typically offer overnight accommodations for a very reasonable rate. They are very clean, and offer secure, enclosed parking, along with room service.

Although I would never live there, for the most part, that area is populated with hard-working lower-income people. As you know, labor rates are very low in Brazil while their cost of living is high. So, working people, people like some of my family and friends, live in areas like this. Most of them live in Guaianases, just to the SE, across Av. Jacu Pessego (SP-017)
