My expat journey

Fes, Morocco
I lived there and I want to live there again, retirement age seems to me to be the best time to rediscover some buried memories.
I was a student at the Jean de La Fontaine school, I don't remember that it was mixed and yet when I look at most of the photos on the internet from that period, there are girls, was I that blind at 9 years old?
What I liked is very difficult to retrieve from my memory, the afternoons at the swimming pool, an open-air cinema, where I saw Barrabas, who was short of air in the mine where he was imprisoned in the mine. Fatima one of the many maids who worked with us, she had a gouged eye but she was so kind to me, Catherine Constant who was my best friend at the time and whom I lost sight of, the students of the Lycée Moulay idriss who invited us to their home and we were presented with a sequence of oriental dishes, I also liked running away across the mountains, I ate acorns so as not to die of hunger, a treat when they are not bitter.
The medina, the street merchants with their carts with whom I tried to lower the prices, the custom and the hospitality of the Moroccans.
the moments lived with a father and a mother-in-law, teachers at the Moulay Idriss high school who did everything so that today I remember the best days of Morocco. Thanks to them, I only have in mind the punishments, the abuse of a stepmother who served as my mother.
The only thing I can thank are the private lessons on Thursdays, dictations, mathematics problems, thank you ma'am...

Lille, France
I have nothing more to do in France, I leave my children there who will come and join me as many times as they wish
an unstable life but despite arriving victoriously at the gates of a well-deserved retirement
Very beautiful city, in a rainy climate, hot and cold, but never -40 as Galabru said in the Chtis, I also liked the mentality of the chtis the neighborhoods of our childhood, but today everything is gone, I might as well leave on my own and draw a line...
the values that have been lost over the years, the disrespect of a majority of people, whether young or old, today the motto is: everything for me nothing for others, or if you need nothing come see me, visit Lille but don't live there, Lille has changed a lot from what we knew about it.
